"How it Started"

In 1998, a Youth Consultations were held throughout the North East of Scotland where young people from all over the north east of Scotland were invited to give their opinions on a range of subjects, including drug education.  There was a clear message, they wanted harder hitting drugs education and they wanted to be involved. "tHe buZZ" was developed from that message.
Grampian Police Community Beat Officer Constable Shona Stewart, along with pupils at Torry Academy and students from Aberdeen College, formed a working group to look at the issues raised at the consultations.

From these discussions
Cameraman at Work
the idea of a short video, together with a manual of discussion based activities emerged.

The pupils wanted the video to focus on Heroin addiction, as they saw it as the major problem.
